What is my UWM email address?
This article will provide information to figure out what your email address is at UWM. (ePantherID@uwm.edu)
When you are admitted to UWM as a student or hired at UWM as an employee, you will receive communication containing your Campus ID (student number/employee ID) and instructions to activate your ePantherACCOUNT. You will be assigned an email address after activating your ePantherACCOUNT, however, as a student your email address will become functional after you enroll in classes.
Once your ePantherACCOUNT is activated you will receive your user ID. Everyone at UWM has a user ID, which is often times referred to as an ePantherID. User IDs are used to access various services at UWM in conjunction with a password and a second method of authentication (MFA/2FA). Depending on the service of access, a user may be required to apply only their user ID/ePantherID, or they may need to enter the full user ID followed by @uwm.edu. This is often referred to as an email address, but it‘s important to note that this is not always a functioning address. Not all users will have access to Microsoft’s services (mail, calendar, Microsoft apps), and the @uwm.edu suffix also allows a user to gain access to that service, such as PAWS. In short, you will not be able to send or receive emails with this address as it is not a functioning UWM email account. By simply adding @uwm.edu to the end of your ePantherID, it forms another UWM user ID that is required for accessing such campus services as PAWS. If you have any issues accessing PAWS, please contact the UWM Help Desk.
To log into PAWS, Microsoft 365 or other services that utilize Microsoft Azure, enter your ePantherID@uwm.edu and your password and authenticate with your second method.
