Printing (How To) Map Network Printers from Personal Windows 11 Computers

These steps will allow you to map a UWM-operated network printer from a personally owned Windows computer. Use these steps only if you are using a computer that does not sign in with an ePanther account.

IMPORTANT: For these instructions to work, your computer must be on the UWM network. Either via Ethernet, UWMWIFI or Global Protect.

To begin, download and install any necessary printer drivers from the manufacturer. Once the print drivers have been successfully downloaded and installed, follow the set of instructions below

  1. In the Search Box, type “credential” and launch Credentials Manager Control Panel.
  2. Select “Windows Credentials” and click on “Add a Windows credential” to add your credentials to the network.Windows Credentials Window
  3. Input uniflow-ps01.ad.uwm.edu for “Internet or Network Access” and your ePanther credentials in the form of ad\ePanther.Enter in Network Address of Printer
  4. Close out Windows Credentials and type in “Printer” in the white search box and launch up Printer and Scanners in setting.
  5. Select “Add device” and select “Add manually” (You may need to scroll down to get to the bottom of the list).
  6. Click on “Select a shared printer by name” and enter \\uniflow-ps01.ad.uwm.edu\printer_name” with printer name being the printer you a printing to. Example \bol225a_PCL.

   7. If prompted again for password, enter password.
