A guide to using Self Service on a University-managed Mac to add leased Canon printers.

One of these prerequisites MUST be met to add a networked printer using Self Service:

  • Physically on UWM campus connecting to the wired or wireless campus networks, or
  • Connected to the GlobalProtect VPN service

Adding a networked Canon printer

  1. Open the Self Service+ app.
  2. In the leftmost column, the search box is followed by four primary sections: HomeBookmarksCatalogNotifications, and Updates.
  3. Click on Catalog and click Printing.

    Print Section under Catalog

  4. Click Install for the printer you want to use.
    • Printers are named for their building and room location. In the example above, "nwqb7460a_PS" is for a printer located in North West Quad, B building, room 7460.

    • The installed printer should be visible and available in "Printers & Scanners" on the System Preferences pane.
