GlobalProtect VPN (How To) Connect Before Logon (Windows)

This article outlines the steps to take to connect to UWM's VPN before logon to a managed Windows computer. Useful for clients that are logging into their device for the first time from off campus. Also useful for client's that have changed their ePanher password and are unable to logon from off campus.

**************************************Note**********************************

This Article assumes:

  1. You are using a UWM managed Windows computer that already has the GlobalProtect VPN software installed.
  2. You’ve already established an Internet connection on your device via WiFi or a wired network connection.
  3. (New employees) have activated their ePanther account.  If not, please visit
    ePanther Account (How To) Activate Account.
  4. You’ve set up your Microsoft MFA.  If not, please visit

  1. Click the Network sign-in button to the left of the WiFi or wired network icon in the lower right corner of the screen.

  1. Type your full UWM email address into the Sign in box and click the Next button.

  1. Type in your password and click the Sign in button.

  1. Complete your Multi-factor authentication.

  2. After the VPN connection completes, click the Back button.

  1. Click Sign-in options.

  1. Click the VPN option.

  1. Type in your ePanther ID and password and click the arrow on the right end of the password box.
