Duo - Accessibility Authentication Methods
If you have an impairment and are unable to use the Duo Mobile application or hardware token as methods of authentication with Duo, there is the option of receiving a phone call as a method of authentication.
Setting up the Phone Call authentication method
If you need to set up the phone call authentication method for your Duo account, please contact the UWM Help Desk at (414) 229-4040, toll free at (877) 381-3459, or submit a help request online at http://gettechhelp.uwm.edu.
Authenticating with Duo with a Phone Call
When you log into a UWM Duo-protected service (such as Office 365 or 1Login), you will be prompted by Duo's authentication screen asking you to select a method of authentication.
There are three options of authentication you can choose from:
1. Duo Push (this option only appears if you enrolled your smart phone/device with the Duo Mobile application).
2. Call Me (this option will be greyed out unless your phone has been enabled to use this method).
If you are using the phone call as a method of authentication, you can click the Call Me button and the number associated with your Duo account will receive a phone call (if your phone does not have service, you will not receive this phone call). The voice on the phone will inform you to press a key/number on your phone. Once you press a key/number, the call will end and you will authenticate with Duo successfully, navigating you to the Duo-protected service you are trying to access.
