SAFEWALK - UWM Police Department Service

This article provides information on SAFEWALK, a service to UWM students which escorts students safely within a few blocks of the UWM campus.

SAFEWALK teams are UWM students trained by the UWM police to provide walking escorts for students within a few blocks of campus. Safe walkers carry two-way radios and watch for suspicious activity in the area. SAFEWALK teams are available seven days a week from 6:00pm-2:00am. This service can be accessed through calling the university police, or through approaching a Safe Walker. 

How to request SAFEWALKER service:
1. Call 414-229-4627 or approach a SAFEWALK team
2. Dispatcher/SAFEWALK team will determine elgibility for SAFEWALK services.
3. State your phone number to dispatcher in order to receive calls.
4. Dispatcher will send SAFEWALK team to your location
