Tech Timeouts

Tech timeouts are periods where UITS staff are unable to implement changes that may affect the usability of UWM services (PAWS, UWM website, etc.) towards students and faculty.

When do tech timeouts take place?

 Tech timeouts occur during the Fall and Spring semesters. There are two tech timeout periods per semester.

The scheduled tech timeouts are:

          Period 1:

  • Begins: Friday prior to the first day of instruction, beginning at 12:01 AM.
  • Ends: Monday after the first day class, ends at 11:59 PM

    Period 2:
  • Begins: 12:01 AM on Study Day.
  • Ends: 11:59 PM on the day grades are due.
