When an applicant is initially accepted, many times that applicant feels they should have immediate access to their email account. This is not that case. There are steps the applicant's account must go through in order for the internal systems to flag it as active. The defining flag is the enrollment appointment. Once properly matriculated, the applicant will receive an enrollment appointment or, in simple terms, the applicant will be allowed to enroll for courses. Once they are able to enroll for courses, then and only then do they gain access to their email account.

Enrollment appointments can be seen on the main PAWS page, middle right, under Enrollment Dates:

The above image means the applicant does not yet have an enrollment appointment and therefore does not have access to their UWM Email account.

If information shows in this window with a date, that is when the applicant will gain access to their email.
