The first set of instructions are for Ricoh devices only. For Canon devices, click here
To configure print codes on a Ricoh device
- With a document open, open the print dialog by selecting File>Print or using the keyboard shortcut CMD+P. If presets are not visible, click the Show Details button
- Select the Printer Options drop down menu menu and click on Job Log. Check the Enable User Code box and enter your user code in the field below
- Click the Presets menu and select Save Current Settings as Preset...
- Name the preset something that will be easily read and understood. Unless your department uses user codes with two identical printers, leave the Only this printer option selected
- This preset can now be used as a template to create other presets. To add a preset with additional options, simply adjust the settings as desired and choose Save Current Settings as Preset...
To setup your print codes/Department ID on a Canon device:
- Navigate to your Applications folder and open Self Service
- Run the L&S-Map Departmental Network Printers policy by clicking the gray Map Network Printers button
- Navigate to your Applications folder, open System Preferences and launch the Printers & Scanners preferences pane
- Highlight your departmental printer and click the Open Print Queue button
- Click Settings, select the Utility tab and click the Open Printer Utility button
- From the User Management: dropdown, select Department ID Management
- Enter your department ID in the Department ID field and click Save Settings
