Browser Friendly Settings - Safari 6 and up

Standard browser settings for use with UWM pages.

Note: For all steps below (with the exception of steps 2 and 6), start with the following step:
Open Safari. Click on Safari in the top left corner.

Reset your clock (EVEN IF your machine displays the correct time!)

  1. Click the time in the upper-right corner, and choose Open Date & Time.
  2. Select Date & Time.
  3. Click the time text box above the clock.
  4. Change the time to the correct time, or check the box for Set date and time automatically and choose the appropriate one from the list.

Make English the top language

  1. Click the Apple menu (in the top left corner).
  2. Click System Preferences.
  3. Under Personal, click Language & Text.
  4. Under the Language tab, drag English(US) to the top of the list.
  5. If Safari is running, restart Safari.

Delete the cache

  1. Click Preferences.
  2. Click Advanced.
  3. Check Show Develop menu in menu bar.
  4. Close the Preferences windows.
  5. Click the Develop menu.
  6. Click Empty Caches.

Create ePanther-friendly cookie settings

  1. Click Preferences.
  2. Click Privacy.
  3. In the Block cookies section, specify whether Safari should accept cookies from websites and when. To see an explanation of the options, click the Help button (looks like a question mark).

Update web settings

  1. Click Preferences.
  2. Click Security.
  3. Check Enable Javascript.
  4. Check Enable Java.
  5. Close the window.

Update Java

  1. Click the Apple menu (in the top left corner).
  2. Click Software Update.
  3. If a Java update is available, click Install to automatically download and install the update.
  4. Quit Safari.
