uFiles - Recover a deleted, missing, or modified file

If a document on uFiles is accidentally deleted, lost, or modified in such a way that useful information is lost, it may be recoverable using the "previous versions" feature. Documents stored on uFiles are backed up twice daily on weekdays.

Applies to Windows computers only. This feature is not available from macOS, but you can still recover files on uFiles that are deleted by a macOS computer using a Windows computer.

Instructions

1. Locate the uFiles folder where the deleted, missing or modified file was located. Right click the folder and select Properties.

Go to the Folder Properties menu

2Click on the Previous Versions tab. A list of all available version backups is displayed. Go back to a date when the file you want to recover was still intact.

Open the Previous Versions tab to see all available backups

3. Double click the version backup you would like to open. A new window opens with all of the files from the date you selected.

Open the folder you want to restore from. A new window will open showing you the date the backup was made.

4. Locate your file backup and copy it to a new location, such as your desktop or the current uFiles folder.
