Q: Why can't a client log into PAWS?

A:   Client'saccount is not activated
Client had been accepted to the University but never enrolled in classes
Password issue
Browser issue


Q:  Why can't a client adda class that s/he dropped previously in the same semester?

A:  Clientwill need to speak to the Registrar's Office at (414) 229-3800, www.contactro.uwm.edu, or in Mellencamp 274.


Q:  Whywon't a permission number work?

A:  Permissionnumbers are valid for one use only (even if an error occurs). Contact the instructor for another permission number, if possible.  If the instructor is not available, speak to the Registrar's Office at (414)229-3800.


Q:  Whenwill a student be in a class if s/he is on a wait list?

A:  Studentson wait lists will automatically be processed week nights with first comefirst serve basis. Being on the wait list does not guarantee a spot in thecourse.


Q:  Why can't a clientchange their address?

A:  A student will need to speak to the Registrar's Office (414) 229-3800. A faculty will need to speak to thePayroll Office at (414) 229-5804. If the student is attempting to change their address to somewhere outside of the United States, the student must contact the Center for International Education's office (414) 229-4846 to complete the change.


Q:  What does a student do if a course is full andthere is no wait list for the course?

A:  An add/drop form must be filled out and handedinto the Registrar's Office in Mellencamp Hall 274.


Q:  Whydoes my information still show in the UWM White Pages after restricting it inPAWS?

A:  Restricting contactinformation in PAWS will only hide a client's Home Address & phone number.All public information can be restricted by filling out a Student Record DataChange Form in Registrar's Office Information Center (Mellencamp Hall 274).More information can be found in the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act(FERPA) page "Your Rights as a Student" (www.uwm.edu/ferpa).


Q:  When will a class appear in my classlist after I sign up?

A:  Systems sync at 2:00 a.m. nightly, so if you have signed up for a class through PAWS, it will appear in your D2L classlist after 2:00 a.m. the next morning.
