Windows 11 Upgrade

This article explains the Windows 11 upgrade process available through Software Center

How to upgrade your device to Windows 11

If your university owned computer is compatible with Windows 11, the option to upgrade to Windows 11 should be available in the Software Center application on your computer.

If you do not have the Windows 11 Upgrade available in your Software Center application, your device hardware does not meet the Microsoft hardware requirements. You can run the Windows 11 Compatibility Checker in software center.

Steps:

1. Open the Start menu (usually located in the lower left-hand corner of the screen).

2. With the Start menu open, begin typing "Software Center" (without the quotes).

3. Choose the Software Center application that appears as the search result.

4. Select the Updates option that appears in the list on the left side of the Software Center window.

5. The “Upgrade to Windows 11” should be listed.

6. Select the Windows 11 upgrade and click install

7. A prompt will appear asking you to confirm the upgrade, click install.

9. The Software Center application should then update to show downloading and installation of the Upgrade to Windows 11.

10. Once the installation is complete you will be prompted to restart.

11. Once your device reboots and completes the final process of upgrading the device will be running Windows 11.
