M365 Visio (Information)

Microsoft Visio is an application for creating diagrams and flowcharts.

Microsoft Visio Web Application

The Microsoft Visio Web application is a diagram and flowchart design tool available to active UWM students, faculty, and staff. For more information on the Visio web version, visit the following link: Overview of Visio for the web.

Getting Visio Desktop Application

The desktop version of Visio is available for faculty and staff using university computers. To purchase Visio, submit a Purchase Request - Technology Resources (uwm.edu). For the best experience, include your computer name in the additional information text box. Once your purchase request has been submitted, a member of the IT Purchasing staff will obtain a quote and request your approval to purchase. A requisition will be submitted in ShopUW for approval. When the purchase order process is complete, an IT staff member will contact you and confirm that Visio has been made available in the Software Center on your University computer. Visio licenses are perpetual and are not eligible for upgrade. An additional license must be purchased if you are using an older version of Visio and would like the latest version.

Note: Licenses to use desktop Visio are not included in UWM's Microsoft 365 subscription. Purchase is necessary to use the software.
