Effective April 25, 2017, all UWM ePanther passwords will be required to use at least 12 characters.

According to new UW System policy, all ePanther Self-Service Web pages will require that new passwords be at least 12 characters long.  Previously, passwords only required ten (10) characters.  Please visit the following pages to access the appropriate action:

Account Activation:  Activate your individually issued ePantherID and set a password
Password Change: Change the password associated with your ePantherACCOUNT on all centrally maintained directory services
Set Security Questions:
Set security questions which enables an individual to reset the password associated with the ePantherACCOUNT if it is forgotten
Forgotten Password Change
Reset the password associated with the ePantherACCOUNT if security questions have been previously established

UW Milwaukee is not forcing people to change their account passwords at this time.  However, all current and future password activations or updates will require that the user set at least 12 characters following these guidelines:

Must be between 12 and 32 characters in length
Must be judged Strong or Very Strong by the password utility
Must include three (3) of the five (5) following character types:

Uppercase Letters
Lowercase Letters
Numbers
Symbols (DO NOT USE Double Quote (") OR Backslash (\))
Non-printing character other than space
To prevent unauthorized use of your ePantherACCOUNT and protect your privacy, close all of your Web browser windows and Web-enabled applications when you finish.

If you need assistance changing your password, please contact the UW-Milwaukee Help Desk at 414-229-4040.
