Off-Campus Printing Abuse

On Friday, March 25th, 2016, the UWM Chief Information Security Officer informed the Help Desk about abusive print jobs being sent from off-campus.
Across Campus, printers with public IP addresses are being used to print out inappropriate material. The Information Security Office has determined that the malicious print jobs are coming from off-campus locations. To prevent this, network ports that allowed printing to public campus printers have been blocked by Network Operations. This should have no impact for on-campus printing.
