On Wednesday, March 4 beginning at 11:00 PM, UITS Desktop Support will be transferring file storage for the departments of Finance & Administrative Affairs from the FAA-File1 server to uFiles, concluding by 6:00 AM on March 5.

The transfer will cause the inability for users to access files stored on the FAA-File1 server during this time. Once the files are transferred to uFiles, any shortcuts to existing files will need to be updated.
Once the file transfer is complete, users will need to reboot their devices to have access to the data.

The U: drive will be mapped to the new storage on uFiles on devices running Windows 7. The shared folder will not be transferred but users will have read only access for 30 days.

NOTE: It is important for you to save and close all documents, and reboot or shut down your computer before you leave for the day on Wednesday, March 4th.

Why is the work necessary?

This move is being done to provide newer and more reliable file storage.
