Duo (How To) Set Authentication Options

This article describes how to manage your device's Duo configuration using the Duo Prompt screen. Please note - this is not the same dual authentication as MFA. This is for a focused group of UWM staff using very specific systems on campus.

Accessing the Duo Prompt Screen

1. In a private/incognito browser window, visit https://uwm.edu/office365/ or any website that uses the 1Login service and log in with your email address/ePantherID and password:
Once you have logged in, you will see the Duo Prompt.

Setting Default Authentication Options

If you authenticate with more than one device, you can specify which you would like to be the default. From the Duo Prompt screen, click the My Settings & Devices link on the left-hand side:
Then, choose an authentication method and complete two-factor authentication to manage your devices. Click the Default Device drop-down menu and pick your default device for authentication:
To exit My Settings & Devices, click the Back to login or click the UWM logo on the left.

Managing Automatic Push Notifications

You can enable or disable automatic push requests. From the Duo Prompt screen,click the My Settings & Devices link on the left-hand side:
Then, choose an authentication method and complete two-factor authentication. Click the When I log in drop-down menu and select Automatically send this device a Duo Push if you want to enable an automatic push upon logging in or select Ask me to choose an authentication method if you want to leave the automatic Duo Push off:
To exit My Settings & Devices, click the Back to login or click the UWM logo on the left.
