PAWS (How To) Validate Shopping Cart
Information related to the validation of class sections in the Shopping Cart in PAWS student self-service.
Students have the ability to validate they are eligible to enroll in the class sections in their Shopping Cart. The validation functionality in PAWS checks for the following:
- Time Conflicts
- Repeats
- Prerequisites
- Consent/Permission to Enroll
- Term Unit Limits
The message a student receives when validating class sections in the Shopping Cart is the same message provided when the student attempts to enroll. The message will also indicate if a hold is present that would prevent enrollment. Validating class sections in the Shopping Cart is a way for the student to determine if enrollment will be successful relative to the items above. Note that validation does not check class capacity, and putting a class section in the Shopping Cart does not reserve a spot for the student in the class.
Validation of the Shopping Cart is generally available on the same day that students get access to the Shopping Cart for a term. See the Important Dates by Term on the One Stop website for specific dates of availability for current and upcoming terms.
Validation can be accessed directly within PAWS or within the Schedule Planner tool.
