ePanther Account (Information) What’s my User ID?

Everyone at UWM has a user ID, which is often times referred to as an ePantherID. User IDs are used to access various services at UWM in conjunction with a password and a second method of authentication (MFA/2FA).

For some applications, the ePanther ID will need to be modified with the @uwm.edu suffix to allow access to UWM IT services, such as PAWS. It will often be referred to as an email address, but it's important to note that it may not yet be a functioning email address.  In short, you WILL NOT be able to send or receive communication with this email address until you have matriculated.

Matriculation is the process in which Applicant status changes to Student and the account holder becomes eligible to register for classes. This process happens approximately one week before the user is scheduled to attend New Student Orientation. Transfer students or returning students will not have to wait for matriculation for their UWM email address to become usable.

There are two different sign in screens that you will see. The only differences between the screens are the way they are accessed and the logo displayed above the Sign In prompt. One prompts for ePantherID@uwm.edu and the other prompts for Email, phone, or Skype. You will always use your ePantherID@uwm.edu regardless of which version of the login screen you see.
