Reset your clock
- Click the time in the upper-right corner, and choose Open Date & Time Preferences.
- Select Date & Time.
- Check the Set date & time automatically box, and choose the proper source for your region.
- Make sure the date (including year) is correct and the time is correct within two minutes.
- Click on Time Zone in that window.
- Make sure the time zone is correct for your local time - for Milwaukee, click near Chicago on the map, and it will change the time zone to Central Standard Time.
Make English the top language
- Click the Apple menu (in the top left corner).
- Click System Preferences.
- Click Language and Region.
- From here, make English the primary language.
Delete the cache
- In the main toolbar, select History, then Clear Recent History...
- Select the time range to clear, then toggle Cache. Click Clear Now.
Create basic ePanther friendly settings
- Type about:config in the address bar. Hit Enter.
- If prompted with a warning message, click I’ll be careful! I promise!
- Type browser.cache.check_doc_frequency into the Filter: box.
- Right-click on the entry that appears and select Modify.
- Change the value to 1 and click OK.
Allow cookies
- Click Firefox.
- Select Preferences.
- Under Privacy select Use custom settings for history.
- Check Accept cookies from sites and set Accept third-party cookies to Always.
Update Java
- Open the System Preferences app.
- Select Java.
- If a Java update is available, click Install to automatically download and install the update.
Disable PDF viewer
- Click Firefox.
- Select Preferences.
- Under Applications, scroll down to Portable Document Format (PDF).
- Select any option other than Preview in Firefox
