Microsoft Teams (How To) Make a Call

This article will provide instructions for how to make an outgoing call from the Teams desktop app.

With Teams calling, you will no longer need to dial 8 or 9 to make a call to an outside line. When making a call to an outside line you will need to dial all 10 digits for the phone number you wish to dial (3-digit area code + 7-digit phone number) Once you have entered the number in the dial pad press the call button. You have various options for making a call within Teams:

  • Dialing a number into the Dial pad
  • Selecting a contact from your Speed dial
  • Selecting a contact from your Contacts
  • Pressing the call button from the Chat pane
