The snipping tool is a tool in Microsoft Windows that allows you to capture and save screenshots. This tool can come in handy in many situations. For example: a professor asks a students for proof of completion of an assignment. This tool can save a screenshot of a completion screen that a student can then send or upload via Canvas.
1. Begin by searching for Snipping Tool in the Windows search bar and click the Snipping Tool program
2. Once it opens up, you will be presented with a small window.
3. Click button labeled New. The Snipping Tool window will disappear and you will have full view of your screen. Now, click and drag to create a box of what you want to capture on your screen.
Note: What is inside the red box will be captured in the screenshot.
4. After taking a screenshot, the Snipping Tool window will reappear with your screenshot. Proceed to save the screenshot by hitting File and then Save As... Save wherever possible.
