UWM ChatGPT Edu workspace - Personal ChatGPT account
If you were given access to the UWM ChatGPT Edu workspace and you previously created a personal ChatGPT account using your UWM email address, upon your first login to the UWM ChatGPT Edu workspace you will need to choose what happens to your chat history. This is a one-time decision, and choosing to delete your chat history will make your content unrecoverable.
Please note: If you have a personal ChatGPT account that uses a non-UWM email address (Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, etc.) you will not see this screen and you will have separate accounts for personal ChatGPT use and UWM ChatGPT Edu use.
Upon logging in to the UWM ChatGPT Edu workspace for the first time, you will see the following screen if you have a personal ChatGPT account where you used your UWM email address:

Transfer existing chat history and GPTs
Transfer existing chat history and GPTs is the recommended choice if your existing chats are UWM-related, you created GPTs that support your role at UWM and/or you want seamless access to your existing work.
When you transfer your existing chat history, all your previous chats and custom GPTs will move to UWM ChatGPT Edu. If you have any custom instructions, plugins and certain workspace-specific settings that are not supported during the migration, you will lose those settings.
Please note: If you have an individual ChatGPT Plus subscription tied to your UWM email address, OpenAI may cancel and refund the remaining subscription according to their policies.
Export and delete existing chat history
Export and delete existing chat history is the recommended choice if your existing chats are personal projects or conversations, you want to keep your personal and UWM-related ChatGPT use separate and/or you want to start using ChatGPT with a clean slate.
After migration, you will not have your history or custom GPTs in your account and all content generated from that point forward is part of the UWM ChatGPT Edu workspace.
