New UWMGuest Wifi and Retirement of UWMVisitor Wifi

Connecting to UWMGuest will be much easier for our UWM community! Users connecting to UWMGuest will download the wifi configuration accessibility tool (CAT) from eduroam for travel computers such as laptops. Users who are using their mobile devices should download the eduroam app from their appropriate app store.  This tool will automatically configure the appropriate Wi-Fi networks for your on-site use.

To obtain this tool for your laptop computer, click https://cat.eduroam.org. 

The following screen will open up. Click on the eduroam installer button as outlined below:

Once clicked, the installer will ask you what institution you are from. Select "University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee" and hit enter. 

This will determine your machine, location and provide you with the option to download the installer for your specific computer OS/iOS. 

The following screen will then show up, if your auto-download does not start, click the word "link" outlined below in red.

Once download is complete, you will install your download from your typical download folder. Click to start your install.

Once install begins, you will see the following screen. Click Next.

Click OK below to begin installer.

The installer will ask for your UWM credentials in order to begin install. Enter your UWM credentials that you use to log into Canvas, PAWS, etc.

Once the install is complete, click Finish. 

You can now select your UWMGuest wifi from your wifi selection screen by clicking on your wifi icon on your computer. 

This will bring up a list of wifi access points. Select UWMGuest.

Next, click Connect 

Once connected, you are online!

Open your browser window and you will then be asked to review and accept the UWM Acceptable Use Policy.

Once you click the accept box and the Sign In button, you'll be routed to the UWM website.
