Microsoft MFA - "Account Verification System is Having Trouble" Error
Some users are reporting an error that states "Account verification system is having trouble" when attempting to sign up for Multi-Factor Authentication.
On Monday November 15, 2021, all UWM account holders will be required to enroll in multi-factor authentication through Microsoft MFA. When logging into UWM services (Microsoft 365, PAWS, Canvas, My UW Portal, etc.) users will be immediately prompted to enter information to enroll in Microsoft MFA and UWM’s new digital identity experience.
Note: IT system updates will be taking place the evening of November 12 through November 14, 2021 – if you utilize any online UWM service during that timeframe you may be prompted to set up your account with Microsoft MFA.
During the sign up process, users may see the following error:

If the user continues to have issues, they may contact the UWM Help Desk at 414-229-4040 or via the UWM Technology page at https://uwm.edu/technology/help/. Please note, multiple contact attempts will result in longer response times due to the large volume of tickets this creates in the system.
