JAMF Connect Sign-In / Re-sync password via JAMF Connect

This article provides information about the Jamf Connect service for UWM Mac users, as well as how to re-sync their password via Jamf Connect

Jamf Connect Upgrade

Jamf Connect streamlines the Mac user experience by keeping users' UWM ePantherID credentials in sync with Microsoft Azure AD services. This service is already being used by most UWM Macs.

Installing Jamf Connect

No action is necessary for users, as Jamf Connect will install in the background. Users will see the Jamf Connect login screen after logging out or rebooting their computer.

New Login Experience

Users will see a familiar Microsoft 365 login screen when logging in to their Mac. After successfully authenticating with Microsoft 365, users will see "Welcome to Mac"

Login Instructions:

Enter your UWM email address (example: ePantherID@uwm.edu)  and click Next.
Jamf Login Window
Enter your UWM Password and click Sign in
You are now signed into your device.

Using the Jamf Connect Menu Bar Application

To re-sync your password after updating it on another device:

If you are syncing your new password on your machine, log in to the machine if you are not already logged in (you may need to sign in locally using your old password).

  1. You will click on the Jamf icon and click Connect to open the Jamf Connect Window

    Jamf Drop down Window

Then, the Jamf Connect password field will be empty. There, you will enter your new password and click Sign In to re-sync your account.

Self Service window pop up after clicking on Connect

After signing into Jamf Connect, the password expiration notice should refresh, showing the number of days before your new password expires. If the expiration notice does not refresh or displays an inaccurate count, be sure you connect to the VPN if off campus. If you are on campus, ensure that you are connected to Ethernet, UWMWiFi, or Eduroam. The password expiration notification requires a connection to Active Directory. The connection is only required to refresh the password expiration policy. Once the policy is refreshed and the password expiration notice is updated, the VPN can be disconnected unless otherwise required. Jamf Connect does not require a constant connection to Active Directory.

If you have trouble or questions with the Jamf Connect and login process, please contact the UWM Helpdesk.
