BP Logix (How To) - Review Outside Activities Report (OAR)

Pursuant to UW System policies, all Faculty, Academic Staff, and Limited appointees with appointment of half-time or greater must report outside activities annually. Each appointee will receive an email from UWM HR via the UWM eWorkflow Process Director. The Outside Activities Disclosure Review is due by April 30 each year. This article describes the process Supervisors will follow when reviewing OAR submissions from their employees.

Instructions

To complete the review, begin by opening your campus email.

Click to open the email from UWM eWorkflow Process Director titled Outside Activities Reporting – Notification of Pending Review.

After opening the email, click the link titled Review OAR Disclosure


Note: You can also access your disclosure review by going to uwm.bplogix.net if you lose the email or have emails for multiple disclosures you are required to review.

A new tab will open with a UWM 1Login screen.

  • Enter your ePantherID and Password
  • Click Login

Note: You might be prompted to allow pop-ups. If this happens, allow pop-ups for this site in your browser.

After logging in, you will be brought to your Task List. Your Task List will show a list of OAR disclosures that need your review.

Note: Once you allow pop-ups you will be taken directly to the disclosure from clicking the link in your email.

Click on the OAR Disclosure you wish to review.

  • This will open the disclosure in a new window.

Review the following information:

  • Submission Details
    • Review accuracy of the following:
      • Submission Date
      • Request Number
      • Employee ID

  • Reporter Identification
    • Review accuracy of the following:
      • First Name
      • Last Name
      • Email Address
      • Campus Phone
      • Division
      • Department
      • Title
      • Employee Category
      • Appointment FTE
    • If there are additional appointments review accuracy of the following:
      • Division
      • Department
      • Employee Category

  • Activities Disclosure
    • Review accuracy of the following:
      • Confirmation that there are no remunerative outside activities or associations to report.

OR

      • Disclosure of the following:
        • Remunerative Relationships
          • Review if the reporter has received net remuneration.
          • Review accuracy of the following:
            • Name of Business or Organization
            • Type of Activity
            • Time Spent (days)
            • $5000 or greater from a Single Source
          • Review if the reporter has received compensation from a nongovernmental sponsor.
            • If they have, review the Name of Sponsor
        • Offices and Directorships
          • Review accuracy of the following:
            • Name of Business/Organization
            • City, State
            • Position Held
        • Ownership Interests
          • Review accuracy of the following
            • Name of Business/Organization
            • City/State

  • Reviewer Assignment
    • Review accuracy of the following:
      • Level of Review
      • Reviewer Selection
      • Reviewer Name

Note: This can be verified by scrolling to the bottom of the disclosure and reviewing the Routing Slip.

  • Additional Comments and Supporting Documentation (Submitted by Initial Reporter)
    • Review the reporter’s comments and supporting documentation if this section is populated

If you have any comments regarding the OAR Disclosure type or paste them in the Approver Comments box.

Complete the Reviewer Certification

  • Approve
    • If everything is accurate click Approve
  • Return
    • If there is a discrepancy in the OAR Disclosure click Return
  • Close Without Saving
    • If you need to exit and come back later click Close Without Saving
    • Note: If you select this option you will have to review the complete form again.

After approving or returning the disclosure, you will be brought back to the Task List. If you have more disclosures to review, complete this process again for each disclosure.
