D2L - Announcement Creation and Deletion of News Items

The announcement section appears on the course homepage of every D2L course site. Instructors can post quick updates, instructions for the week’s assignments, and even embed files. This document will outline how to create and delete news items in the announcements section.

The Announcement section appears on the course homepage of every D2L course site. Instructors can post quick updates, instructions for the week's assignments, and even embed files. This document will outline how to create and delete news items in the announcements section.
 
 
Troubleshooting:
 
To create a new news item:

  1. On the course homepage, click the downward arrow next to "News" and select New News Item.

 

  1. Enter in the desired information on the following screen. Make sure to give the news item a headline. Instructors also have the ability to attach files and adjust visibility options on this screen.

  1. When finished, select Publish.
 
To Delete News Items:

1. On the course homepage, click the down arrow next to the news item's headline.

2. A drop down menu will appear with two options. Choose the Delete button.

3. Click Yes on the confirmation window that appears.
