Canvas - How do I register for and access my Continuing Education course? (for UWM/UW System staff and students)
Join a course using an email invite
When you are invited, an email will be sent to you. In the email, click the "Get Started" button. When you click, you will be prompted to select "I Have a Canvas Account".
- Click the "UW Employee / Faculty / Student" button.
- From the "Select Organization" list, choose your home institution.\
- Enter your home institution's username and password.
Join a course using a self-enrollment link
If your instructor sends you a link, clicking it will take you to start the self-enrollment process.

- Click the "UW Employee / Faculty / Student" button.
- From the "Select Organization" list, choose your home institution.
- Enter your home institution's username and password.
Join a course using Canvas Catalog
If your instructor sent a link to Canvas Catalog (Example: http://uwm.catalog.instructure.com/browse/sce/courses/012413), click the link to continue. Otherwise, click the Browse Canvas Catalog link on the UWM Canvas Continuing Education login page.
- Click "Sign in here".
- Click the "UW Employee / Faculty / Student" button.
- From the "Select Organization" list, choose "UW-Milwaukee".
- Enter your home institution's username and password.
Accessing your course
Any Canvas course participant with a UWM or UW System username and password can login from the Canvas Continuing Education website. Click "Login with your UWM or UW System login".
All participants (except UW-Madison) can also access their course from their Canvas Dashboard by logging in to their home institution's Canvas website.
