[Letters & Science] Logging into a FileVault encrypted computer following a password change

Steps for logging into a FileVault encrypted computer following a password change.

Mac laptops and other Mac computers that have been encrypted using FileVault will continue to use the old password to unlock the disk following a password change until the Keychain has been updated. After changing your password on your FileVault encrypted computer, you will need to use the following steps to sync your FileVault and login credentials:

  1. After changing your password, restart your computer
  2. At the FileVault login screen, select your account and enter your old password
  3. Once your old password has been entered, you will be taken to a login screen. Enter your ePantherID and new password
  4. For computers that do not have the NoMAD client installed, select Update Keychain Password, if prompted
