Office 365 (Outlook for Mac) - Change Reply To Address
Outlook 2016 for Mac and Outlook 2011 do not support the ability to change the reply to address. However, there is a work around for both Outlook 2016 for Mac and Outlook 2011 by using the "Send As" and "Send on Behalf of" permissions.
What to Gather:
When a client calls with an issue, gather the following information:
Alternate email and phone
Preferred method of contact
Best Time(s) to Reach
Application Name & Version
Browser Name & Version
Full error message(s)
WM of client
Note: This work around assumes that you have been granted the appropriate permissions that are mentioned in either document.
Click New from the Outlook ribbon and choose E-Mail Message from the dropdown.
- In the From: field, select the address you are delegate of by clicking From and choosing the address from the dropdown list.
- Note: This field will only be available if the steps described above have been performed or if another account is configured in Outlook.
- Send as permissions: Your message will appear to have come from the user that granted you this permission.
- Send on behalf of permissions: The From: address in any message sent by you will indicate that the message was sent by you on behalf of the user that granted you this permission.
Create a new message or reply to an existing message.
From within the "From:" select box, select the account you want to send from.
Note: You must add another account to Outlook in order for the "Form:" field to show up. If the account does not show up in the list, you must first subscribe to the account.
After you complete composing the message, send the message.
If you have "send as" permissions, the recipient(s) will see the message from the account you are sending as.
If you have "send on behalf of" permissions, the recipient(s) will see the message from "your_account on behalf of from_account".
