Pulse Secure VPN Service - General Information

The Pulse Secure VPN service provides secure, authenticated, and authorized access to resources on the UWM network that are otherwise unavailable to hosts outside the campus network. The VPN service is configured as split-tunnel access, meaning only UWM resources use the VPN link. All other internet traffic is routed through your direct connection.

Instructions for downloading and configuring the Pulse Secure VPN client can be accessed via the links below.

PLEASE NOTE: Faculty and staff should check with their local IT department regarding distribution of the Pulse Secure VPN client for University-supported computers.
Windows 32-bit and 64-bit
Mac OS X

The following mobile apps are not supported but are linked here for your convenience. Please note that network data usage charges may apply when using these apps over a mobile network.
Apple iOS
Android

The following services are available to all users with an ePanther ID when using the VPN:
Key Servers
AD
DNS
SCCM
JAMF
PAWS
PantherFile
UFiles
Library Resources (as allowed by licensing)

All other services are blocked by default in order to ensure security.

Any department that wishes to request extended access for their employees will need to have a departmental OU added to the VPN, in which they will control user additions and deletions.  Network Engineering will create the requested specific set of rules at a charged rate of $64 per hour. Configuration times, depending on difficulty, are estimated at 5-15 hours. Please contact the Help Desk via webform if you are interested in pursuing this option.
