This article provides information about UWM's System Logging service
The System Logging service keeps a log of all hardware and operating system events on authorized servers and hardware supported by UITS. All logs are stored on a logging server for one year to meet applicable retention guidelines and can be accessed by IT staff to trace the history of events on various servers.
This service is primarily infrastructure in nature and generally used by professional IT staff.

This service is currently limited to staff in UITS IT Architecture and Infrastructure and the UWM Information Security office.
This service is available 24/7 except during scheduled maintenance periods and unscheduled outages. For information about timeframes when service is unavailable, visit uwm.edu/gettechhelp.
Scheduled Maintenance Windows
The defined standing maintenance window for the System Logging service is each Wednesday from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m.
There are no charges associated with the use of this service.
