How To - Create a Personal Microsoft Account

Before you can use Microsoft's online tools and services, you need to sign up for a free Microsoft account.


If you already have a Hotmail account, or an account that lets you use a Microsoft service such as OneDrive or Xbox Live, you already have a Microsoft Account. Use that account to sign in.

Begin by heading to the Microsoft account sign-in page by clicking the link: Microsoft Sign-In

You will reach the following page:


Click the Create one! link to proceed to the sign up page. The sign up form will appear, asking you for details such as, name, birthday, password, etc. Fill out the form.

Once finished filling the form, click the Create Account button.

Upon successful account creation, you will be brought to your Account page.

You may now access Microsoft online services such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
