Preparing for a Collaborate Ultra Session

This article provides students with resources and strategies for successful Collaborate Ultra sessions help getting started tour connection issues communicating with instructor

What can I do to have a great experience using Collaborate Ultra? 

  • Know where to go to learn to use Collaborate Ultra
  • Know how to contact support for help with Collaborate Ultra
  • If you are a first time users, take a tour and get setup using the Get Started with Collaborate Ultra for Participants guide
  • Know how to communicate with your instructor outside of Collaborate Ultra (mobile phone or forwarded office phone) in case you have problems accessing the session
  • Be sure to enter the session 10-15 minutes early to address any technical problems that could occur
  • Double check the directions your instructor gave you about which session you need to choose in Collaborate Ultra and how to access the room
  • Follow best practices for the best connection experience
  • If you are presenting materials or working with a small group, use audio instead of video to minimize network connection issues
    • Multiple video feeds can slow connection speeds (called latency)
    • Switch to audio only communication if you begin to experience latency
