LinkedIn Learning - How to create a new student account

This article walks through the steps for setting up a new student account in LinkedIn Learning.


All current UWM students can create an account to use LinkedIn Learning. Follow the steps below to create a new account.
Faculty and staff can access LinkedIn Learning through Workday Learning.

  • Go to http://www.uwm.edu/linkedinlearning and click the link for LinkedIn Learning under the Students section.
  • The next screen is the UWM Single Sign-On screen, type in your UWM email address and password and authenticate with your preferred MFA method.

  • On the LinkedIn Learning Welcome page, click Connect my LinkedIn account or click Continue without LinkedIn. If you connect to your personal LinkedIn account, courses you take will appear on your LinkedIn profile as skills that you have.

  • Depending on your choice, you will either be prompted to sign into your personal LinkedIn account or confirm that you do not want to connect to a personal LinkedIn account.
  • Next, personalize your learning by clicking the Sounds good button.

  • Choose from the available categories.

  • Within a category, choose relevant skills and click Continue.

  • Your student account is now activated in LinkedIn Learning.
