Basic Information:
You may find that Outlook 2011 on Macs does not contain the full range of functionality as Outlook 2013/2016.

Impact: Individuals will be unable to perform certain operations within the Outlook 2011 desktop client. Known limitations include:
  • Accessing some shared calendars that have been accepted in OotW.
  • Microsoft Outlook for Mac 2011 does not update your Microsoft Exchange calendar when you accept a meeting request. When you accept a meeting and then select Do not Send a Response, Outlook for Mac 2011 updates your local calendar but does not update the calendar on your Exchange mailbox.
  • Add Contact Group option may be grayed out.
  • Contact groups are not saved to the Exchange server. Any groups that you create are saved on your computer and are available only in Outlook 2011 for Mac.
Workaround:  For full functionality, use Outlook 2013/2016 on a Windows machine.
