New UWMGuest Wifi
This article outlines how to connect to the new UWMGuest wifi here at UWM, beginning June 2, 2026.
On June 2, UWMVisitor will be retired and replaced with a new Wi-Fi network named UWMGuest. UWMGuest is a portal-based network for community users without UWM credentials and will have the same security limitations as our current guest-level networks. Connecting to UWMGuest wifi much easier for our UWM community! Users connecting to UWMGuest will select the correct wifi, accept the Acceptable Use Policy and be provided use of the university's public access wifi.
To do so:
First, select "UWMGuest" from the wifi drop down menu.
Next, click on UWMGuest and a new window will open. In this instance, you may click the "Connect automatically" checkbox if you plan to use the UWMGuest wifi on more than one occasion.
Once connected, if it does not open automatically, open your preferred browser. This will provide next steps in logging onto the UWMGuest wifi.
To view the Acceptable Use Policy, click on the words "Acceptable Use Policy" below the checkbox. This will open a window so that you may review the policy in its entirety.
Once you agree to the Acceptable Use Policy, click the checkbox and click the "Sign In" button.
You are now connected to the UWMGuest wifi network and you may access the web using your preferred browser.
