Embedding Videos in Canvas Classic Quizzes
1. Upload a Video File to My Media.
2. Return to My Media, click the Edit (pencil icon) next to the video you uploaded.
3. Click the Launch Editor button.
4. In the video editor, drag the trim handles (Set In/Out points) to the beginning and end of the desired clip.
5. Click Save a Copy.
Important: Do not click Save because this saves over your original video. Clicking Save a Copy saves the clip as a new video.
6. Give the new clip a descriptive title (e.g., "Accessibility Topic"), and click the Create button
Note: Your students will be able to see this title.
7. When prompted, click OK.
Your video clip has now been saved to your My Media account.
8. Click Reset to undo the changes to your original video.
9. Repeat steps 4 - 8 for each video clip you want to create.
10. Once you have created all the video clips you need, click the Exit button.
11. When prompted, click I'm sure. This preserves your original video.
12. Create a Classic Quiz in Canvas.
13. Enter Quiz details, making sure to check Show One Question at a Time.
14. Add a video clip to your quiz by clicking Questions > New Question.
15. Select Text (no question) as your question type.
16. Click the My Media icon.
17. Locate a video clip, and click the Embed button.
18. Click the Update Question button.
19. Repeat steps 14 - 18 to add each video clip to your quiz.
20. Add your regular quiz questions to your quiz, arranging them so that a video clip appears and then questions pertaining to that topic follow the video clip.
21. Save and publish your quiz.
