PAWS (How To) Login Change - Receive Username Error When Logging In
If you are receiving a username and/or password error when logging into PAWS, please note that login functionality changed on January 1, 2025.
PLEASE READ!
Your ePanther ID is the beginning of your UWM email address.
Example: if your UWM email is PAWSuser@uwm.edu, PAWSuser is your ePanther ID!
In order to properly log into PAWS, please make sure to click on the PAWS access button.
You then need to enter only your ePanther ID. For example, if your UWM email is PAWSuser@uwm.edu, your ePantherID is PAWSuser.
If you continue to have issues logging in, try the following:
- Remove ALL SAVED LOGIN information
- The system may be attempting to use saved login information to get you into PAWS. Mobile devices (cellular phone/tablet/chromebook) tend to save information in multiple places so delete all saved information, including any saved Microsoft Live Account information. Restart device.
- Clear Cache and Cookies
- Regardless of mobile device or computer, you will want to completely clear cache and cookies, and then reboot your tech.
- Use an Incognito/Private browsing window.
- This will act as a clean login window and won't see any saved information on your tech related to the PAWS website.
- Try a different machine
- Even after attempting the above steps, if you are still unable to log in, please use a different machine/mobile device. There may still be saved information on your own device which may be preventing you from accessing PAWS.
- Change your password
- Please attempt this after you have done all of the above steps.
If none of the above works, please reach out to the UWM Help Desk at 414-229-4040. Please note that due to the amount of steps to troubleshoot your login above, our staff will again walk through these steps with you to verify each has been completed.
