M365 Outlook (Information) Email Authenticity & Service Configuration

This article provides links to the Email Authenticity and Email Service Configuration web pages and explains what to do if you believe that legitimate email messages were not received.

Achieving email authenticity is part of an ongoing effort to protect users from spam, phishing, as well as improve the reputation of email sent from UWM.

The Microsoft 365 Request Forms page has detailed information regarding UWM's Email Authenticity framework, including DMARC, DKIM, and SPF. Please click the drop down for Email Service Configuration to view the Email Authenticity information.

Additionally, for assistance with third-party email service configuration, please visit the Microsoft 365 Request Forms page and review the drop down for Email Service Configuration Information.

Please complete the following form to request an email service configuration consultation:

Email Messages Not Received

External senders can experience delivery issues to a UWM email address for a variety of reasons and it is important for us to identify the root cause.
If an external sender reports that their email did not reach the intended UWM recipient(s) or they received a bounced email message, we will need specific information in order to investigate the issue:
  • Date/Time the message was originally sent
  • Sender email address
  • Recipient email address
  • Subject line of the message
  • Error Message (in the case of a bounce back) - Typically when a message is returned to Sender it includes an error message/code that indicates the source of the issue.
If you have reason to believe that you are missing mail please contact the UWM Help Desk at 414-229-4040 or email at helpdesk@it.uwm.edu
