Canvas - Renaming Module Items

This article provides a streamlined way to change the title of an item within your Canvas module. By clicking on the item's kebab icon and selecting "Edit," you can adjust the title in the provided field and save your changes with "Update." Remember, this method alters the link's name in the module, not the actual file name. To modify the file name, utilize the Files area.
  1. Locate the item in the module, and click the item's kebab.
  2. Click Edit

  3. In the Title field, change the name of the item, and click Update.

Note: If you use this method to edit the title of a file in your module, Canvas does not rename the file, instead, Canvas simply changes the name of the link that appears in the module. If you would like to change the file's name, you can change the file's name through the Files area.
