Canvas for Instructors - Adding Files to Canvas Modules

Do the following to add files to your modules in Canvas.

  1. Upload your file(s) to your course's Files area

  2. Locate the module you want to add content to, and click the module's + button.

     A red arrow points to the plug icon in the Module bar

  3. Select File from the Add dropdown list.

     A talk bubble points to the "Add" menu which reads "Select File, and files from your course's Files area appear below.". The mouse pointer is over the Add Item button.

  4. Click file names to select one or more files from the list that appears, and click the Add Item button.

Links to your files are added to your Canvas module. 

Note that you can move or reorder items and rename file links to make them more meaningful to students.
